A little about me and my family & how things got started with

                          Bigleybakes:

  • As I taught in my Food and Nutrition classes, I would often be approached to create personalized orders for co-workers, school events and members of the community. As a stress reliever, believe it or not, I began to work at the holidays making cookies for families who did not have the knowledge or time to do so as a way to cushion my family's Christmas and our end of the year giving. Now, my family and I have widened those services to include just about any day of the year in addition to the holidays.

  • Our original name was Rebecca's Dovetail creations, as we are Christians and wanted a business that represented our focus.  The concept of dovetailing is also a huge part of how I was able to manage my family, work and this business.  Later, I changed the name to Rebecca's Bakery Creations, because it was suggested that we include a name that told people what we did.  Finally, we have become Bigleybakes pure and simple.  When you look at our logo, you will still see the original dove.  Our name may not say dovetail anymore, but those concepts listed above are still the heart of what drives our passion for this business!

  • My husband and I have 5 children  and a growing family from that. I am a very busy lady, I firmly believe that the health of a family overall is directly related to what they are fed. Everything in moderation, and enjoying the goodness of a special dessert created with love and quality ingredients, without preservatives or additives that can be harmful, are a part of this commonsense approach to food preparation that we embrace in our family.  It flows naturally into the food we prepare for yours.

  • Our family includes generations of bakers and food fanatics who truly enjoy working in the kitchen and the fellowship that comes from working with others.  And of course, there is always the perk of really, really, good food!

  • From the time our children could crawl up on a chair, they have participated in food preparation activities and the passion of this has created moms like me who want my children to understand food nutrition, safety, creative expression through food, and how wonderful well-made food can be, to make, serve and eat.

  • I have a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, over 35 years of personal food prep experience and have helped over 5000 students learn how the basics of sanitation, food preparation and nutrition choices in their food selections are vital to their overall wellbeing.

  • I have been teaching for over 22 years and many of the recipes used have been "tested" by those students. The recipes use simple, real foods and follow a heritage that in many cases are generations old.

  • I was active in FCCLA, 4-H and other programs as child and those learned skills combined with what I have learned in my own family growing up have helped me to be consumer focused. I also support and donate to these causes as a way of giving back to my roots and encouraging other youth as they develop theirs.

  • Our family and myself have won many ribbons and awards for the recipes used to make the products featured here.  See, I told you, this is good stuff!

  • Our hope is that as you enjoy the creations you order, you also enjoy time with your family the way we do with ours.  Thank you for visiting us today and happy shopping!  Oh, and try not to drool on the keyboard!
